Introduction
My name is Mauricio Lopez aka Susfractor, and I was born in 1992 in the city of Manizales in the coffee axis of Colombia. I’m a techno DJ and music producer specializing in melodic techno music.
What are you doing in your day-to-day life?
My day begins with a little meditation and exercise, and then I start with my work as a digital marketing consultant and project manager in technology companies. In the evening I go to the studio to make music.
How did you start making music?
Since I was very young, I was very angry with music thanks to my family and older brother. One of them had a rock – pop band, and they rehearsed in the garage of the house. When they finished their rehearsal, I entered the garage to play the drums and piano for hours. There I discovered my taste and love for music. After that I began to discover the electronic music at the age of 11, beginning my process as a DJ and producer.
What do you like so much about (melodic) techno?
It’s fresh melodies and positive frequencies, that convey peace and happiness.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
I could describe it as a dose of energy, and a trip into our inner world through music.
Who would you most like to collabrate with?
I would like to collaborate with many artists that I admire and respect, but being able to collaborate with artists such as Sasha, Maceo Plex, Adriatique, Lucy, and others would be a dream for me!
Bass Factory
Bass Factory was born for the love of music. It was founded in 2011 as a collective of electronic music with friends and colleagues with the aim of making events. To link groups from other cities for the growth and support of local artists, and the culture of electronic music in the region and the country.
Whats your best advice to any new producers out there?
My advice would be to focus on discovering your own sound, no matter the genre, but do it with a lot of love and taste for music.
Whats next for you?
I am very happy with what is coming! The end of the year is followed with a Bass Factory showcase, and a new year full of wonderful news as part of the Freedom Festival, with great international artists that I have admired since I was a child. Also, a lot of new music will be coming next year, so I am very happy about it.
