Introducing Goodman
Can you introduce yourself? who are you and where are you from? What are you doing in your day-to-day life?
My name is Goodman, and I am from Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Besides electronic music, I am working as a music producer for artists from the island. Making their music and recording them in my studio.
Can you tell us more about your music career so far? Who do you work with? How many years have you been you producing? Are you DJ-ing too?
My music career began 8 years ago playing music at some nightclubs in Palma. I was 15 at that moment! It started as a hobby, but a few years later I started working as DJ at a radio station and in a DJ shop as well. Then, I had the opportunity to play in many important places in Palma. At the same time, I was studying sound. Because of Covid-19, I now run my own music production studio, where I am working.
How and when did your passion for music start?
It began when I was just a kid, wondering how the hell the DJ stars could make those hits. A friend talked to me about a music production software, so I decided to start playing around with it. I remember I used to load a commercial hit on the software, up the pitch of the track and export it into a CD. I gave those CDs to all my school friends with the message: “Hey! Listen to my remix of David Guetta. It sounds better!” I was 12 at that moment, it was so funny.
Latest release ‘Raw002’
We would love to know more about your track. How did this track come about? How long did it take for you to finish the track? Were there any challenges along the way?
About Raw 002, it is the first electronic work in my new studio. It took around one week to do it. We could say it is the result of all the music production skills I have learned over the last years.
How many years have you been producing?
As I commented before, at the age of 12 I began to make my first “remixes”. But I wouldn’t say it started there. It wasn’t until the age of 15 that I started to make music in a more serious way.
Can you tell us something about your style of production? Which software do you use? Do you use synths or samples? What is your way of working?
Even if I produce electronic music or any kind of music for other artists, I always try to bring my personal sound, simplicity and elegance. I work with Ableton as a DAW and also use my Minilogue synth, from Korg. About software synths, I love to work with products from Arturia and Output.

What kind of DAW and synths did you use for this track? Do you use these synths more often? Why or why not? Do you also have a favorite synth that you use more often in your songs?
For this track I used Ableton and Mini V from Arturia, combined with Portal from Output to create interesting textures.
Final words
What is one message you would give to your fans?
Do what you love and enjoy the way, don’t expect to reach your goals immediately. Also, don’t be afraid of creating new things, be authentic.
What more can we expect from you this year? Any releases or special events you can tell us about?
This year I will be working in my studio, producing for other artists and myself. Otherwise, I will be playing some gigs around Mallorca, so if you are around here, come dance with me!
