Kommando Schwarztee is an upcoming dark techno dj and producer from Germany. In this interview he tells more about his track Cluster, which he recently released on BMR. And you will also read more about what we can expect from him in the future.
Introduction
I’m Robin from Germany, and currently I study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kassel. If I do not make music then I’ll do some graphic stuff or make electronics.
Can you tell us more about your music career so far?
I’m a long way from a career, but I think that’s not a bad thing. I make techno music for myself, as an emotional and artistic expression, and to bring balance in my life with respect to the study/design stuff.
What is the hardest part in the music producing process?
In short: to make decisions. Often you just have too many things in a project. Maybe all the elements sound great to you but it does not come to a point where it worked out properly.
Are the things that you don’t like about producing?
The last 5% until a track is done.
Tell us more about “Cluster”, what was the idea and workflow behind it?
The dictionary spits out the following definition: “a quantity of individual particles to be regarded as a unified whole”. I’m compliant with that.
Can you describe the style of your productions?
I think my style is differs a lot, because I do not really want to commit myself to one single sound. For this I will develop a couple of different synonyms in the future.
Can you name three tracks that were influential
What can we expect from you in 2020?
There will be some smaller releases, for example in January an EP on Black Mirror Recordings!
