Introducing Enif
Hey, I’m Enif, I make music and I like to chew on bones. I currently have to live in Kassel because I am going to art school with Robin.
Last year you have released the track “Cluster“ with a different pseudo ’Kommando Schwarztee’ on Black Mirror Recordings. Can you explain why you have chosen to take another identity besides Enif?
Kommando Schwarztee is a name that has been around for a long time, and it was actually created by joking around in a blog. Actually, I never thought that the name would stay the same. I’m just Enif, I’m not in the mood for techno stuff, I like it deep and I also like to wear a V-neck.
Can you define the style of both Kommando Schwarztee and Enif, and make clear what the most important differences are?
Schwarztee was a smorgasbord of finished stuff. It was only when I realized that the differences in style were already too big, that I decided to use different pseudonyms. And maybe also a little bit because I hate self-marketing and cult of people.
Which style do you like most, Kommando Schwarztee or Enif?
They differ enough to like both!
Latest Release ‘I Play Extended‘
On your EP ‘I Play Extended‘ we can hear 3 deep house tracks, why do you like this genre so much?
To be honest, it’s not really my music. But sometimes something happens that you didn’t expect.
When and how do you decide if you want to make a track for the dancefloor, or a calmer track? Is this already in advance, or during the production process?
When I make music at home it is rarely made for the dance floor, actually I jam around until I like something or I am so motivated that I can finish it.
Producing
I think I spend around 15-20 hours a week in the studio. I’m spinning records only on Sundays, live at my radio show: 128kb/s show / every Sunday, 5pm-7pm on www.radio-rasclat.com
Who would you like to collaborate with the most, and why?
Britney Spears, because she is my spirit animal. And a good singer too.
Where do you want to focus on in 2020 with your music?
We will see. I am currently working on my own small label – more for study purposes and also as a part of my study graphic design. I would like to deal conceptually with split-eps, as you know it from punk rock.
How and where can we follow you or your work best?
I think my Soundcloud is the place where the new stuff will appear first, so then you’ll have to go to
