Techno Groningen: music clubs
In the city you will find two big techno clubs: Paradigm and OOST. But besides these clubs, people organize a lot of other, regularly returning parties all around town. This offers a large variety of places to go to and have a fun night (or day) out enjoying techno music.
Paradigm
This club exists now for about 10 year, and has been declared best underground club of the Benelux in 2015. Once every month an event is organized in this old factory, which was formerly used as a plant for Sugar production. The factory exudes and old-school industrial underground atmosphere, which makes it very suitable for big techno parties. Inside there are different stages setup in multiple areas, so a couple of shows can be going on at once. Some techno DJs who have featured in Paradigm include Nina Kraviz, Marcel Dettmann, Stephan Bodzin and Joris Voorn.
Important to mention here also is Paradigm Festival. This is a yearly recurring festival that many techno enthusiasts are looking forward to. It is a three-day festival that is held in August, on the sugar factory grounds. Various stages are distributed across the factory area, outside as well as inside. Because it is such a popular festival, the Saturdays usually are sold out. If you want to go to this crazy amazing festival, buy your tickets as soon as possible.

The club has been around for about five years now, and over the years has welcomed both national and international deep house and techno DJs. Some of the names that have performed on this stage are Palms Trax, Seth Troxler and Detroit Swindle. In addition to a nightclub, OOST is also a place for public debates, where socially relevant topics are discussed regularly.
